Has this ever happened to you? It’s 3pm and there’s no way you’re going to make it to dinner without a snack. You know that you should eat something healthy like protein-packed almonds or full-of-fiber veggies and hummus — but those snacks couldn’t be further from what you’re craving. So, you grab a sugary granola bar, a cookie or a handful of candy and, in what feels like no time at all, you’re hungry again. Been there, done that.

Snacking has always been the one thing that makes (or breaks) my healthy eating habits. My friends and family joke that I am “always eating” but I’ve learned that without something to fuel my afternoon, I’m almost guaranteed to fall off the healthy eating bandwagon — which brings us back to our original dilemma: what to snack on when you’re craving something sweet.

I swear by Perfect Bars. They’ve got plenty of whole-food protein (from ingredients like nut butter and eggs) to keep me going strong and the healthy fat from the nuts keeps me full until dinner (which I tend to eat pretty late in the day).
