You'd think that a cocktail with just three ingredients would be simple. But while a classic Manhattan is easy to make, it's also easy to mess up unless you know the right technique. Use rye whiskey to give it a spicy note to balance the sweetness of vermouth.

Directions
Put the bitters, sweet vermouth, and rye whiskey in a mixing glass. Add ice to just above the level of the liquid. Stir with a cocktail spoon, 20–25 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with Luxardo cherries.
