Winning recipe: Black-and-Tan Pork With Spicy Ale Slaw

Readers turned their favorite brews into dinner for our June 2010 recipe contest, cooking up beer-laced macaroni and cheese, risotto and even burgers. But Sam Betty from Ocala, FL, made the ultimate beer-lover's feast: black-and-tan pork and slaw, a riff on the classic ale-and-stout layered drink. Sam marinated pork tenderloin and coleslaw veggies in pale ale, then drizzled the finished dish with a sweet stout-spiked glaze. He likes to serve his winning meal with a side of potatoes, "and of course, it should be accompanied by a black and tan," he says.
