I Tried Dunkin's Holiday Drinks, and One Was the Best I've Ever Had
The coffee chain is bringing back its Cookie Butter and White Mocha drink menus.
While the leaves may still crunching beneath our feet, we’re now dumping our pumpkin spice lattes down the drain to make room for holiday beverages. Of course, we can expect peppermint mochas to abound. Meanwhile, chains like Starbucks and Dunkin' are making tiramisu lattes mainstream.
But Dunkin’s latest holiday menu is sticking to the tried and true. The franchise is reintroducing its popular cookie butter and white chocolate mocha drinks this month.
What’s on Dunkin’s Cookie Butter menu?
There are six Cookie Butter drinks on the menu. They are:
- Cookie Butter Cloud Latte: Espresso, Cookie Butter Syrup and milk topped with Cookie Butter Cold Foam and cookie butter crumbles.
- Cookie Butter Cloud Dunkalatte: Espresso, Coffee milk and Cookie Butter Syrup, topped with Cookie Butter Cold Foam.
- Cookie Butter Hot Chocolate: Hot chocolate with Cookie Butter Syrup topped with whipped cream and cookie butter crumbles.
- Cookie Butter Matcha: Sweetened matcha with whole milk and Cookie Butter Syrup.
- Iced Cookie Butter Oat Chai Latte: An oat milk chai latte with Cookie Butter Syrup.
- Spiced Cookie Iced Coffee: Dunkin’ Iced Coffee, oat milk and Cookie Butter Syrup
What’s on Dunkin’s Toasted White Chocolate menu?
Dunkin' is adding four Toasted White Chocolate beverages to its menu:
- Toasted White Chocolate Cloud Latte: Espresso, Toasted White Chocolate and whole milk, topped with Sweet Cold Foam.
- Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte: Toasted White Chocolate blended with espresso and whole milk, finished with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and cinnamon sugar.
- Almond White Chocolate Shakin' Espresso: Toasted White Chocolate and toasted almond flavor shaken with oat milk and a double shot of espresso.
- Raspberry White Chocolate Matcha: Sweetened matcha blended with whole milk, raspberry flavor and Toasted White Chocolate.
How can you get Dunkin’s holiday drinks?
The new menu debuted on November 4 and will be available throughout the holiday season.
What else is new at Dunkin'?
The coffeehouse is also debuting new holiday packaging. The “Donutcracker” design will be featured on holiday cups, plus doughnut and Munchkins packaging.
My honest review of Dunkin’s holiday menu:
I tried two drinks from each of the returning menus. The Cookie Butter Cloud Latte delivers full force on its cookie butter promise, between the sweet syrup, fluffy cold foam and crunchy cookie topping. This triple-threat harmony of buttery, spiced goodness earns its spot as my favorite cafe drink, period. If only it were on the menu year-round.
I also tried the Cookie Butter Hot Chocolate, which was delicious — the flavors came together like a chocolate-dipped teddy graham. However, the drink is so rich, thick and sweet (what happens when you combine already sweetened hot chocolate with flavored syrup) that I couldn’t take more than a few sips.
The Toasted White Chocolate Cloud Latte is a solid drink, but doesn’t have that same magic as its cookie butter counterpart. The white chocolate had more of a marshmallow taste, which is reinforced by the soft texture of the cold foam. Meanwhile, the second white chocolate drink I tried, the Almond White Chocolate Shakin' Espresso, was a pleasant surprise. In this drink, for some reason, the white chocolate tasted like dark chocolate to me. The drink wasn’t too sweet and had a more sophisticated flavor, like an Italian rainbow cake or a chocolate-dipped biscotti.
