The standout surprised me.

Usually when you’re being love-bombed, you should run in the other direction. But when you’re a donut and coffee lover, and it’s Dunkin’ doing the love-bombing, you have to see it through.
Dunkin’ has given its customers a lot of gush over this January. Three weeks ago, the chain introduced Protein Milk to the menu and tapped Meghan Thee Stallion as the celebrity face of the new beverage upgrade. Last week, Dunkin’ quietly dropped its newest Golden Chocolate Classic Donut, a yeasted donut filled with golden fudge and topped with chocolate icing and crushed toffee pieces.
And starting today, January 28, Dunkin’ is officially kicking off celebrations for the day of love. Not only is it bringing back its iconic heart-shaped filled donut — including the seasonal Brownie Batter Classic Donut and the Cupid’s Choice Classic donut — the brand is treating customers to a limited-time drink collection that features not one, not two, but seven flirty new beverages.

My honest review of the new Dunkin’ Valentine’s Day drinks:
I got to live out every Dunkin’ fan’s dream: I had the opportunity to try out all of the limited-edition coffees, refreshers and lattes on the new Valentine’s day menu in one go. Here are my thoughts on each of the seven beverages.
- Heart Eyes Daydream Refresher: This tasted creamy, fruity and super light – akin to a milky, fruity Japanese drink.
- Chocolate Covered Strawberry Daydream Refresher: It tastes very similar to a real chocolate-covered strawberry. The chocolate cloud foam was wonderfully creamy, and the strawberry flavor didn’t come off as overly artificial, though I couldn’t help but wonder if the drink would work better as a blended smoothie or Coolatta.
- Blush Spritz Refresher: The third refresher offering in the lineup tasted like a sparkling energy drink, with a very berry-forward flavor. It was nothing especially memorable compared to the others in the lineup, but the blush-pink shade was darling and instantly got me in the Valentine’s Day spirit.
- Toxic Ex-Presso Cloud Latte: In the most traditional sense, this punnily-named latte had the strongest Valentine’s Day energy. The chocolate and mocha flavors balance really well with the strawberry shot, though the drink overall is very sweet. I couldn’t get past two sips — is that part of the “toxic” branding?
- Sweet On You Cloud Latte: This is a perfect fit for a lover of coconut candy, which I am not. The tropical fruit flavor hits you the moment you take a sip and lingers long after you finish the drink.
- The Perfect Matcha: To put it simply, this is a creamy matcha latte. While it didn’t scream Valentine’s Day in exclamation points dotted with hearts, it actually stood out to me among the drink lineup. It’s a dependable matcha option to order at a coffee shop chain. Come to think of it, reliable and safe love is the best form of love, so maybe Dunkin’ was onto something here. This matcha is not ceremonial grade or artisan-crafted by any means, but it is quite good (and greener than any matcha latte I’ve seen proudly consumed by a performative male I have dated).
- Buff Chai: I thought I was saving the best for last because I love chai, and I was most excited to try Dunkin’s protein rendition of its classic chai latte. But the chai flavor was by far the sweetest out of all the flavorings in this drink lineup, and it was so intense that I longed for a shot of espresso or coffee to dial down the sugar. Overall though, Buff Chai was creamy, well-spiced and a good one to try if you want to work towards your daily protein intake through a beverage.
What else is on the new Dunkin’ Valentine’s Day menu?
Need a lovely sweet treat to eat with your drink? Dunkin’ has got you covered with delicious heart-shaped filled doughnut options:

And you don’t have to order one of the seasonal flavors to get into the spirit. According to a press release from Dunkin’, “all filled donuts — including Boston Kreme and Jelly — will be made with heart-shaped shells throughout the Valentine’s Day season.”
