This is a version of a viral snow globe drink that is perfect for summer celebrations. If you don’t like cranberry juice, birch beer or various red sodas work well. If you can’t find star fruit, you can cut star shapes out of pears or apples using cookie cutters and dry the shapes just as you would the star fruit.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In 6 lowball glasses that are freezer-safe, cover the bottoms with the blueberries. Pour over just enough lemon-lime soda to almost cover the blueberries. In the center of each glass, nestle 1 to 3 star fruit slices among the blueberries, using them to prop up the slices on end. Freeze until set.
  2. Remove the glasses from the freezer and pour cranberry juice, grenadine and lemon-lime soda over the top and serve.

Cook’s Note

Dry your own star fruit slices! Slice fresh star fruit 1/2 inch thin and place on a baking sheet outfitted with a rack. Place in the oven on the lowest setting and bake until rigid, checking every 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely.
