Eight of the worst celebrity cooks in America arrive at culinary boot camp, and chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence ask them each to cook their favorite restaurant dish to see how they measure up to the original. Then, the chefs teach the celebrities how to make a classic steakhouse meal, and it's clear that some of these celebs just don't have the chops. Finally, Anne and Tyler pick their teams in an award show-inspired ceremony.
The final two recruits face off in the ultimate challenge -- cooking a 3-course, restaurant quality meal for a panel of culinary experts. Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence coach their recruits from the sidelines, but it all comes down to the skills that the recruits have learned over the past 10 weeks. Judges Paulette Goto, Jordan Andino and Michael Chernow taste the recruits' dishes in a blind taste test and determine the winner of the $25,000 prize.
With Chef Tyler Florence now beside her in the kitchen, Chef Anne Burrell is out to claim her turf and take the win. After an open call brings some truly horrible cooks right to Anne and Tyler, the pair chooses 14 Recruits to bring back to Boot Camp. These "home cooks" make the chefs their signature dishes, and upon tasting, Anne and Tyler choose their Recruits and give them a lesson in creating the ultimate romantic meal.
In the penultimate week of boot camp, the remaining recruits battle it out for their spot in the finale. First, they're each given $15 and 20 minutes to scour Aldi supermarket for the ingredients to make a meal of their choice. For the main dish challenge, the recruits attempt to replicate dishes created by chefs Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay that utilize high-end ingredients. After the tasting, the chefs decide which recruits are going to the finale!
