Pro athletes Rich Aurilia, Jennifer Lacy, Marcel Reece and Takeo Spikes team up with celebrity chefs Lorena Garcia, Robert Irvine, Brian Malarkey and Marc Murphy for the biggest All-Star lineup Guy's Grocery Games has ever seen! These dynamic duos are challenged to make a winner's dinner using only seven items after going through the Express Lane. Next, a toss of the dice determines what these pros must use for their pre-game meal! Then, teams race the store relay-style, grabbing only one ingredient at a time, to create their best cheat day dish! The winning team will get the chance to sprint through the aisles for up to $30,000 for charity!
Sandwiches are pretty comforting to begin with, so imagine the double-dose of cozy that comes with a comfort food sandwich. Jeff's heading to the Palace Grill to get the scoop on a couple of classics from his friend George. You better believe gooey grilled cheese is on the menu, and Jeff takes some of that inspiration home and does it one better with his grilled cheese two ways. Next up, that most famous of all comfort foods, meatloaf! But the Sandwich King pairs his meatloaf with crispy onions and slips it onto a soft potato roll. All this meal needs is a warm bowl of roasted tomato soup. Pass the remote!
It's holiday time on Chopped! The competitors are challenged to stay in the spirit of the season throughout the meal. In the appetizer round the chefs, not-so-gingerly, take down some gingerbread houses. And adrenaline runs so high that one chef does not realize that something has gone very wrong with his dish until it is too late. Then, in the entree round, a prized piece of meat and a beautiful vegetable have the makings of a great main dish, but a sweet surprise in the basket may present "ye old yuletide" pitfall for the chefs. And when the finalists find an often-disparaged holiday classic in the dessert basket, who will be able to elevate the ingredient and be on their merry way with $10,000?
Robert Irvine goes to Catalina Island off the coast of Southern California for a mission in paradise. After 2020 put a damper on the small island's tourism season, Robert is called to ring in the new season and celebrate the island getting back on its feet. He needs to make a celebratory meal for 75 locals, but every dish must be handheld and include either bison or seafood -- two of the island's most revered ingredients. After building his own kitchen and braving the open ocean in a kayak, Robert gets pulled in one more direction: He must help a local restaurant open with a bang, Restaurant: Impossible-style. With everything on his plate, Robert struggles to finish this dinner in time and not let down the locals.
Marcela gets fresh with us and takes us to the ground ... to pick fresh vegetables, of course! Growing up eating produce straight from her father's farm, Marcela has always been inspired by the freshest fruits and vegetables she can find. At her favorite local farm, Suzie's, Marcela packs up a bounty of produce to make her delicious menu. First up, Pastel Azteca, an amazing, one-dish meal layered with Pablano peppers, melted Oaxaca cheese and tortillas. She'll also whip up a delicious Avacado and Cilantro dip, a perfect appetizer. Next, a warm Butternut Squash Salad tossed in homemade Tangerine-Rosemary Vinaigrette. To sweeten the deal, a beautiful, and simple, Strawberry Meringue Cake. Go ahead and ring the dinner bell because Marcela's bringing the farm fresh favorites!
The Kitchen is celebrating Mother's Day with recipes made with love! Geoffrey Zakarian updates a dish from his mom's recipe box with easy Grilled Lamb Chops and Vegetable Skewers. Jeff Mauro shares one of his wife's favorite meals, Crispy Salmon with Smashed Sweet Potatoes and a Radicchio Citrus Salad, and Sunny Anderson and Katie Lee each share a sweet parfait that's perfect for brunch. The hosts work together on a Mediterranean herb garden that doubles as a gift for Mom, and then Geoffrey creates a Lemon Herb Yogurt Pasta with herbs from the garden. Cookbook author Anna Francese Gass shares her mother's recipe for Arancini before the hosts play a special round of Try or Deny with a panel of taste-testing grandmothers.
Twenty-four of the country's worst home cooks come to New York City, in hopes of participating in a ten-day Culinary Boot Camp with Chefs Beau MacMillan and Anne Burrell. The eager applicants must prepare a sample of their terrible cooking, and then each chef chooses a team of six for the other chef to teach. Only one "recruits" from each team will make it to the final challenge: to cook a three-course meal for a panel of food critics who think the chefs did the cooking. The winner will receive $25,000. Boot Camp begins, and for their first challenge, each chef demonstrates a dish which the recruits must replicate exactly. The least successful recruit on each team is eliminated.
Guy Fieri and his family's time on the Big Island is coming to an end, and there's no rest for the weary -- at least not when there's camp-cooking, epic farm-touring and old-school prawn-catching to do. They also head back out into the ocean -- without tanks this time -- to try their luck at spearfishing. Then, it's off to Oahu, where Guy, Hunter and Jules get inked the traditional, hand-tapped, Polynesian way. They dig into one of Guy's favorite meals at a bowling alley, and the family joins forces at Pearl Harbor to cook a Mexican lunch for hundreds of troops as a big "mahalo" for their service. The adventure is capped off with a surprise submarine tour for Guy's Navy vet dad.
It's the ultimate throwdown as the final four champs compete for the title of Triple G Grand Champion! First, these two-time winners discover the road to victory won't be easy when they are forced to make a hearty lunch with a total of seven ingredients from the canned or frozen sections only! Then, they must conquer the Fieri Food Pyramid and prepare their best breakfast using odd items you'd never think of putting in a morning meal. The two remaining contenders bowl to determine which aisles they can shop for their winner's dinner before they get caught off guard by a station swap. Only one will be crowned the first-ever Triple G Grand Champion and become the biggest prizewinner in Guy's Grocery Games history!
