Getting Lucky

Episode | From: Food Network Specials
Lucky's Puccias in Austin, Texas, is our first course featuring yummy Italian sandwiches like their Hot Pastrami and Puccia Contadina stuffed with turkey provolone, arugula, tomato and a housemade olive tapenade. Then we make a beeline to the Honey Pot truck in Portland, Ore., for some sweet and savory pies. A trip to San Francisco follows where we dine out at the Phat Thai truck, sampling authentic Pad Thai, Som Tum Salad and Pad Kee Mao also known as "Drunken Noodles," a perfect hangover recipe, allegedly. Finally, it's all aboard Puckett's Trolley in Nashville for some Southern-style comfort food. Serving Shrimp and Grits Hush Puppies, Brisket Chimichanga and Catfish Tacos, this is definitely one streetcar named desire.

Freeze!

The freezer can be your best friend when it comes to making dinner for a weeknight meal. Baked ziti freezes well, so we'll make a double batch and bank one for a rainy day. Pork loin is a terrific freezer staple too and will yield enough to make two delicious dinners without much work. And for dessert, we'll dress up frozen yogurt with a peanut fudge sauce.

Puttin' On the Puttanesca

A delicious sauce featuring tangy tomatoes and salty olives becomes the base for three totally different quick fix dinners. Italian Pasta Puttanesca one night, Chicken with a tasty tomato chutney the next, and a crabmeat salad with a fresh and easy presentation trick. And save room for soup -- a little extra Puttanesca sauce is the base for a no-sweat soup n’ sandwich meal.
