Alex Guarnaschelli Reacts After Playing Matchmaker for Eric Adjepong

There are new developments in Alex Guarnaschelli's quest to find Eric Adjepong love. "It's percolating," she tells Food Network a few weeks after putting up her now-viral Instagram post. "It's brewing like a fine pot of coffee."

You're likely tapped into the story: Alex is playing matchmaker for her close friend and Alex vs. America host, Eric. On September 24, she posted on Instagram, asking her followers, "How is my friend Eric Adjepong single?" She even included a screenshot of a text conversation. "I need to find you a GF," she wrote to Eric. "Yes Chef, please!" he replied.

Apparently, her plea to fans worked. "Eric's DMs blew up, and now we're trying to figure out just how to do it," she says. "I'm gonna [be] Mama bear; usher him into a new era of romance in his life. He's trusting me."

And trust is what it's all about for Alex and Eric. "We've formed a real bond on Alex vs. America. We're just bonded," Alex says. She's adamant about helping Eric find someone he can build a strong and honest relationship with. When we asked her what she'd recommend Eric cook for his future bae, she replied: "It's the women that are going to cook for Eric. That's how this is going to go down … [because] one of the best ways to forge trust in the world, universally, is through the language of food."

"He's a handsome dude, family man, a man of faith and owns his own restaurants? Fantastic," she adds. "He's the full package. That beard and that outfit? Come on. Yeah, he's a catch."

We're assuming it might take Alex and Eric a while to sift through all those DMs, but in the meantime, we'll keep rereading the comments on Alex's post.
