Restaurants around the country are offering specials today.

It’s a challenging time for restaurants — shuttered dining operations around the country mean that many can only offer curbside pickup, drive-thru or delivery, typically with a very scaled-back staff. For those who can’t dine-in, there are still great ways to support your favorite restaurants. Today, March 24th, kicks off the Great American Takeout. More than 400 restaurants across the country — both large chains, including The Cheesecake Factory, Panera Bread and Chevys Fresh Mex, and beloved independent spots — have come together, encouraging people to order takeout or delivery.
Participating is easy.
- Engage friends, family and colleagues to support their local restaurants by ordering takeout, whether or not the establishment has promoted the event.
- Order delivery or pick-up for at least one meal today and share photos on social media tagged with #thegreatamericantakeout.
- Follow your favorite restaurants to learn how to support them and enjoy their food.
Takeout has taken on a new meaning and a few restaurants are getting creative in their offerings. Here are a few:
-Torchy’s Tacos (TX, AK, CO, LA, MS, OK) is pulling together family packs, which are a do-it-yourself taco bar with choice of meats, tortillas and toppings, plus rice and beans. They are also offering beer and wine for pick-up.
-Olive Garden is offering a Buy One, Take One to-go special. Get a hot meal now, save a ready-to-heat meal for tomorrow (also includes their famous soup or salad and breadsticks). Online ordering and curbside pickup are available.
-Select Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants (IL, MD, DC, NV, CA) are offering fun specials like cocktail kits, cookie dough from their famous Summer House cookies, build-your-own pizza kits, family meals and more.
-At Sullivan’s Steakhouse you can pick up their signature steaks to grill at home. If you don’t want to cook yourself, they’re offering a three-course meal for takeout that serves five people.
-Need your coffee fix on the West Coast? Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is offering free delivery.
…and so many other restaurants across the country are packaging their best dishes. Order from your favorite spot and enjoy.
