Shake Shack Is Bringing Back Its Black Truffle Menu
And it’s as decadently delicious as ever.
Those who have been begging for the return of Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Menu, cue the celebratory trumpets: The chain is bringing it back for a limited time.
What is Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Menu?
Initially introduced in 2020 in select locations, Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Menu rolled out nationwide for a limited time in late 2021. After briefly offering a White Truffle Menu in early 2023, the brand brought back the Black Truffle Menu for another run in 2024. Shake Shack says it is one of its all-time best performing limited-time menus, and fans have been pleading for its return.
“Bring back shake shack Black Truffle Burger,” one Reddit user wrote last year. “This succulent sweet piece of sunshine would bring tears of joy to me and my wife, during the hardest of days we would always know our week could still be salvaged if we could make time to find ourselves at shake shack ordering a truffle burger … bring it back ASAP!”
The menu is basically a fancy take on some of the chain's most popular menu items.
“The star of the menu is black truffle sauce, made with black truffle oil hand-crafted in Umbria, Italy,” Shake Shack says, adding that it “offers guests a fun, accessible way to enjoy the rich and highly regarded truffle flavor, a seasonal indulgence perfect for the fall months.”
What's on Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Menu in 2026?
This year, for the first time, Shake Shack’s delicious, decadent black truffle sauce will be available as an add-on, perfect for dipping your Mac & Cheese Bites, Chicken Bites or Onion Rings.
The full menu features these new and returning favorites:
- Black Truffle Burger: A quarter-pound beef burger topped with fontina cheese, “crispy” sweet onions and black truffle sauce, served on a toasted potato bun.
- Black Truffle ‘Shroom: A “crisp-fried” munster-and-cheddar-filled portobello mushroom topped with shredded lettuce and black truffle sauce, served on a toasted potato bun.
- Black Truffle Shack Stack: A quarter-pound beef burger with fontina cheese, a “crisp-fried” munster-and-cheddar-cheese-filled portobello mushroom and black truffle sauce, served on a toasted potato bun.
- Black Truffle Parmesan Fries: “Crinkle-cut” fries topped with Parmesan cheese and served with black truffle sauce on the side.
- Mac & Cheese Bites with Black Truffle Sauce (new): Fried “bites” filled with pasta and cheddar-and-American-cheese sauce, served with black truffle sauce on the side.
Is the Shake Shack Black Truffle Menu as good as we remember it?
Yes. I tasted every item ahead of the menu’s return, and they were insanely good.
The Black Truffle Burger was rich and saucy, with a wonderful herby-umami thing going on. The Black Truffle ‘Shroom was crispy and cheesy in the extreme — with a cheese pull bordering on perfection. Both are still standouts. Would I go so far as to call them a “succulent sweet piece of sunshine”? I mean ... maybe?
When is Shake Shack bringing back the Black Truffle Menu?
The menu is back at Shake Shack locations nationwide as of September 29.
