A Viral Dessert Trend Is Coming To Your Mochi

The Dubai chocolate trend is coming for your mochi. Or is mochi coming for your Dubai chocolate? Either way, the mashup you may not have seen coming (but probably could have) has arrived.
My/Mochi, the Los Angeles-based mochi ice cream company that played a lead role in making mochi mainstream in the U.S., is looking to meet the cultural moment by launching what it says is the “first Dubai Chocolate Style Mochi Ice Cream in the USA.”
Rolling out this month, Dubai Chocolate Style My/Mochi ice cream adds to the ever-mounting evidence that the Dubai chocolate trend is not going anywhere.
“Dubai chocolate has become a stand out flavor and major influence across many food and beverage categories — but not mochi ice cream,” My/Mochi CMO Brigette Wolf says in a press release. “We saw an opportunity to be the first to make that happen.”
What is Dubai Chocolate Style My/Mochi ice cream?
My/Mochi’s take on Dubai-style chocolate — a trend that broke into broad cultural awareness big time in 2023 — features all the necessary and delicious elements: “creamy pistachio flavored ice cream, crunchy kadayif made from Turkish phyllo dough and chocolatey bits wrapped in chocolate-flavored mochi dough,” as the brand describes it.
The mochi are soy-free, made with non-GMO ingredients and milk that contains no rBST.
Wolf says the on-trend launch reflects My/Mochi’s dedication to “listening to our consumers, scrubbing social media and thinking ‘what unique experiences can we give our consumers that nobody else can.’”
Where can you find Dubai Chocolate Style My/Mochi ice cream?
The bite-size frozen take on the viral phenomenon will hit select stores this month and then roll out to retailers nationwide by the spring of 2026.
But take note that My/Mochi is switching up its packaging for the launch. Absent is the usual purple My/Mochi box. The new flavor comes in a box that “playfully leans into the emerald green color palette and luscious brown signature fonts that symbolizes Dubai chocolate.”
The new flavor will arrive alongside My/Mochi’s forthcoming seasonal lineup, which will include the popular returning flavors Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookie, Gingerbread and Cool Peppermint.
