Almost two years after it first burst into the culinary zeitgeist in late 2023, the Dubai Chocolate trend is still going strong. The latest sign that this global viral phenomenon shows no sign of letting up: Ghirardelli is introducing a new limited-edition Dubai-style chocolate just ahead of the holiday season.

The launch rides the wave of Ghirardelli’s sell-out pop-up release of its Dubai Chocolate Sundae earlier this year and subsequent rollout to broader availability at retail locations nationwide. It also follows fellow chocolate brand Lindt’s release of its own limited-edition Dubai Style Chocolate Bar this past July — not to mention Dubai-Style Chocolate product availability at Costco, Shake Shack, Trader Joe’s, Crumbl and even (in pancake form) at IHOP.

“We’re excited to bring our chocolate craftsmanship to one of the most talked-about flavor trends of the year,” Bobby Oliver, Ghirardelli’s vice president of marketing, says in a press release.

What is the new Ghirardelli Dubai Style Chocolate bar?

Described as “luxurious,” “premium” and “decadent,” yet suitable for “everyday indulgence,” the bite-sized individually wrapped milk chocolate pralines blend the flavors of chocolate, pistachio and kataifi that are the hallmark of Dubai Style Chocolate. The diminutive bars deliver a “deliciously layered, textural experience,” according to the brand.

This luxurious new treat combines smooth milk chocolate, crisp kataifi and a creamy pistachio filling,

“Each bite of our Ghirardelli Dubai Style Chocolate features a smooth milk chocolate shell with an added layer of crispy texture, encasing a luscious pistachio filling layered with finely shredded kataifi,” Oliver says.

Where can you get Ghirardelli’s Dubai Style Chocolates?

Starting October 14, the new chocolates are available exclusively on ghirardelli.com, with a roll out to Ghirardelli Chocolate Shops soon to follow. In November, Ghirardelli Dubai Style Chocolates will become available more broadly at “select” retailers.

The limited-edition individually wrapped chocolates are being sold in 4-ounce bags for $13.95, as well as in larger “gift” and “bundle” sizes. A limited-edition, 50-count Dubai Style Chocolate Gift Box — priced at $75 — will be available exclusively on ghirardelli.com.

The variety of package sizes aims to provide options for “gifting, sharing, or savoring solo,” the brand says. And procrastinators take note: Ghirardelli anticipates that the bars may sell out.
