Another major restaurant chain is getting in on the pack-in-the-protein trend. Chipotle says it will debut a new High Protein Menu, featuring the chain’s first-ever snack, a High Protein Cup. The new menu will roll out in the U.S. and Canada starting on Tuesday, December 23.
The “curated” menu, featuring items that each offer between 15 and 81 grams of protein, will make it easier for Chipotle fans “to get the protein they want in the portions that work for them, whether that is a lighter bite or a more substantial build,” the brand says, citing the rise of GLP-1s and an increasing focus on macronutrients.
“A high protein diet has held the title as the top diet pattern in the U.S. for three consecutive years,” Chipotle notes, citing a survey indicating that 70 percent of Americans are “prioritizing protein” and more than one-third say they have upped their protein intake this past year.
