A Fan-Favorite Protein Is Coming Back to Chipotle

When Chipotle Honey Chicken hit the scene in 2025, it was a big hit, becoming Chipotle’s best-selling limited-time offering ever. Alas, though, it won hearts only to break them when its short stay on menus ended.
Now, the chain is bringing back the popular protein. And when Chipotle Honey Chicken returns, it will do so in a new format.
What is Chipotle Honey Chicken?
First introduced in March 2025, Chipotle Honey Chicken was positioned to satisfy a growing demand for “swicy” — sweet meets spicy — menu items. This grilled chicken is marinated in “smoky” chipotle peppers and “a touch of pure honey,” delivering a “bold, balanced flavor that hits heat first, then sweet,” according to the brand.
Right off the bat, Chipotle Honey Chicken sparked the highest order rates of any limited-time offering in Chipotle’s history, and when it left the menu board, there was an outcry. The original 2025 Instagram announcement is full of comments demanding the chicken’s return.
“Guests started asking for it back almost immediately,” Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s interim chief marketing officer, says in a press release.
When is Chipotle Honey Chicken coming back?
Chipotle Honey Chicken will be available at Chipotle locations across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., France and Germany starting April 28. The brand hasn’t announced how long the limited-time protein option will be around, but it does say the chicken “captures the energy of early summer in every bite,” so that’s probably a clue.
What’s new for Chipotle Honey Chicken this time?
You can now order Chipotle Honey Chicken in the chain’s High Protein Cup, offering a “new, protein-forward” customization option, the brand says.
Chipotle’s culinary team suggests ordering a Chipotle Honey Chicken bowl with white rice, black beans, roasted chili-corn salsa and guacamole.
What else should you know about Chipotle Honey Chicken’s return?
To mark the returning protein’s arrival, from April 28 through May 11, Chipotle will offer free delivery on Chipotle Honey Chicken orders placed through the Chipotle app as well as on Chipotle.com and Chipotle.ca.
