It can be a challenge to maintain healthy eating habits, especially when many of us are on a budget and constantly on-the-go. But Subway has long been known for keeping things fresh and healthy while allowing customization and options. A great example is the newly returning Fresh Fit sub menu.
Subway’s Fresh Fit Menu originally debuted in 2007, and in the time since, tastes and lifestyles have changed. Subway took that into account when building this updated version.
“This revamped Fresh Fit Menu is built for the diet and lifestyles of today and based on feedback from guests about what they value the most when eating healthy on the go. The new Fresh Fit Menu features four new builds, all stacked with 20g or more of protein, a full serving of crisp veggies, and fewer than 500 calories in a six-inch,” says a representative for the brand in an email to Food Network.

What’s on Subway’s new Fresh Fit menu?
The chain’s fresh fit subs come in four varieties:
- Grilled Chicken & Avocado: Offering 35 grams of protein, this one boasts 50-percent more grilled chicken than you’ll find in the build-your-own option. It comes stacked with avocado, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions, with some kick coming from baja chipotle sauce. It’s served on toasted multigrain bread.
- Ham & Turkey Stacker: With a base of oven-roasted turkey and Black Forest ham (20 grams of protein), this sub includes lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions, with classic yellow mustard on multigrain bread.
- Seasoned Steak & Avocado: Clocking in at 35 grams of protein, this sub is packed with 50-percent more shaved steak than the build-your-own option, and comes with avocado, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and red onion on toasted multigrain bread.
- Turkey & Ranch Delite: Packed with 26 grams of protein, this oven-roasted turkey sub is topped with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes and red onions, also on toasted hearty multigrain bread.
“Eating healthy often means paying a premium, planning ahead or sacrificing flavor and taste,” says Paul Fabre, Senior Vice President, Global Culinary and Innovation at Subway, in a press statement. “With the return of Fresh Fit to Subway’s menu, our guests can feel confident that there is a convenient, delicious option crafted for them at a great price – and one their macros will love even more.”
