Sonic Is Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday With a $2.50 Menu
The limited-time menu is stacked with summer favorites.

Sorting out your plans to celebrate America’s 250th birthday? Sonic wants you to factor it in. The drive-in fast food chain is dropping a special “America $2.50 Menu” featuring a favorite “bites and sips,” all priced at $2.50 for a limited time. The value menu will be available for three weeks only, from June 22 through July 12, via the Sonic App at participating locations nationwide.
What’s on Sonic’s America $2.50 Menu?
The special menu is stacked with summer favorites, priced at $2.50 per item. The limited-time lineup of classic Sonic menu items includes the following:
- Red, White & Blue Slush Float: Looking very much like a Rocket Pop in a cup, this returning summer treat features “icy blue raspberry flavor, creamy vanilla soft serve and real strawberries.”
- Jr Double Cheeseburger: You get “two beef patties, seasoned and layered with melty American cheese, pickles, ketchup and mustard, all on a golden, toasted bun.”
- All-American Hot Dog: Sonic’s stalwart hot dog comes “topped with ketchup, mustard, relish, diced onions and served in a soft, warm bakery bun.”
- Medium Onion Rings: Sonic serves them “crispy” and “golden.”

Is Sonic doing anything else for America’s 250th birthday?
Yes. The chain is also releasing a series of limited-edition 20-ounce cups commemorating the occasion. The cups, which are available with drink purchases this summer, feature whimsical, red-white-and-blue illustrations that celebrate iconic U.S. landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and Mt. Rushmore.
Additionally, in July, the Sonic Foundation will celebrate America’s 250th by donating $250,000 through the education nonprofit DonorsChoose to support teachers and history-related classroom projects.
“The funding is made possible through Limeades for Learning, where a portion of every Drink, Slush and Shake purchase is donated to the Sonic Foundation to support public education and empower teachers and students in communities nationwide,” the brand notes.
