During Lent, observant Christians will avoid eating meat on Fridays — and consequently eat more seafood in the weeks leading up to Easter. Many fast-food chains are celebrating with seafood-centric menus for a limited time. From fried shrimp to fish sandwiches, there are lots of delicious options to try.

Burger King: Available now and through April 2, Royal Perks members can order a Big Fish Sandwich for just $4.

Checkers & Rally’s: The chain is currently offering two sandwiches for just $4. Options include the Crispy Fish Sandwich, which is made with 100% wild Alaska pollock.

El Pollo Loco: Perfectly timing: This popular chain just added shrimp to its menu. Options include the new limited-time Baja Double Tostada, Baja Shrimp Tacos and a Baja Chicken & Shrimp Tostada for those who want both.

Ford's Garage: Many of these seafood additions feature battered and fried fish, but for a lighter angle, this automotive-inspired chain has its own approach to a Lent-friendly menu. Its offerings include a Seared Ahi Tuna Bowl, Lemon Herb Shrimp Bowl and a Simply Grilled Blackened Norwegian Atlantic Salmon.

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers: The Deluxe Crispy Fish Sandwich has just returned for a limited time, now through April 7. This cooked-to-order Deluxe Crispy Fish Sandwich is made with a four-ounce filet of battered flounder topped with tartar sauce, lettuce, pickles and American cheese, all on a toasted bun.

Golden Corral: This beloved value-priced buffet chain now offers butterfly shrimp as well as an optional lobster tail add-on, making the restaurant a great option not just for those avoiding meat, but also anyone seeking a fairly affordable surf and turf dinner on a Friday night. Other seafood options on the buffet include seafood cakes, baked fish, bone-in catfish and a new Cajun breaded fried fish.

Long John Silver's: A fast-food staple has entered the grocery aisle just in time for Lent. Long John Silver’s famous tartar sauce is now available for a limited time at select Kroger Family of Stores locations — meaning you can now enjoy the sauce with your Friday fish fry dinners (or any time at all) right at home.

Miami Grill: Back just in time for Lent, Miami Grill’s limited-time Fish Pita starts with golden-fried cod nestled into a freshly grilled pita, layered with crisp lettuce and tomato, then topped with signature South Beach Sauce, a mayo-based sauce with a subtle Worcestershire kick.

Popeyes: Starting this week, Popeyes has expanded its seafood options in a flavorful way. Its fan-favorite shrimp tackle box is back, this time with four all-new dry rub options including Garlic Parmesan, Lemon Pepper Shrimp, Ghost Pepper and Buffalo. These flavors are available as part of the surf and turf meal or individually. Popeyes' Flounder Fish Sandwich, which features flounder fillet sourced from Alaska, has also made a return in time for seafood season.

Qdoba: Qdoba just brought back its Citrus Lime Shrimp, which is sautéed and tossed in a sauce made with lime juice and spices for a bold and spicy addition to bowls and burritos.

This includes the Big Shrimp Roll, a build of fried shrimp, lettuce and remoulade sauce on a butter-toasted roll, as well as its spicy cousin, the Scorchin' Big Shrimp Roll. A Shrimp Basket and Scorchin' Shrimp Basket round out the seasonal menu.

Wendy's: Wendy’s Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich is a fan-favorite, made with wild-caught Alaska pollock fillet coated in crispy panko breading and garnished with lettuce, American cheese, pickles and a creamy dill tartar sauce. It's back for a limited time.

White Castle: White Castle is bringing back its popular Buttermilk Shrimp Nibblers for a limited time. These shrimp, which are coated in a seasoned buttermilk batter, are part of a larger seafood menu at White Castle that also includes a Panko Fish Slider made with Alaskan pollock.
