All About the Blackstone Griddle That Everyone on TikTok Is Obsessed With

If you haven’t noticed by now, TikTok is a breeding ground for trendy dishes and recipes as well as handy, must-have kitchen gadgets.
While some of these gizmos are small and unassuming, like a nifty watermelon slicer or a practical insulated tumbler, others are a bit more of an investment. The latest popular appliance making the rounds on TikTok — a griddle from a brand called Blackstone — definitely falls into the latter camp.
The popular grill, which started gaining traction on the social media app around a year ago, comes in several different variations. The tabletop griddles (which are commonly spotted on TikTok) start at around $179.99, while the larger, free-standing grills cost upwards of $300.
One of the things TikTokers seemingly love most about this appliance is how versatile it is. For example, a TikTok user named Jackie who goes by the handle @lowcarbstateofmind, used the gadget to whip up some Caprese chicken last month.
Jackie’s grill, which is one of the larger models, is not unlike a griddle you might see at a fast-food restaurant or a local diner. As she demonstrates with her chicken recipe, it cooks food quickly and evenly and is ideal if you’re making a large meal because you have plenty of space to work with.
Since it was posted less than a month ago, Jackie’s video has nearly nine million views. She even posted a follow-up video about a week later demonstrating how she expertly cleans and re-seasons the oft-used surface of the grill.
In another TikTok, a user who goes by the handle @littlecajunhouse proved that the Blackstone grill is great for making a large breakfast for several people. As shown in her June TikTok, this user is comfortably able to make a “quick and easy breakfast” consisting of plenty of hashbrowns, pancakes, slabs of bacon and eggs all on one surface at the same time.
“I want … this whole life actually,” one TikTok user mused in the comments. Another added: “Step one: Get a job so you can get one of those grill things and a house with a backyard.”
Last but not least, the Blackstone is also a pro at cooking Philly cheesesteaks. A TikTok user named Darryl (@cookingwithdarryl) made the regional staple back in January and used his outdoor Blackstone griddle to get the best results.
And that’s not all! According to the “BlackstoneGriddle” hashtag on TikTok, this multifaceted gizmo can also make fried rice, pizza, s’mores and more.
