Bourbon Cider Mop Sauce

6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) salted butter

1 1/2 cups apple cider

1/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

1/2 cup bourbon


  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the cider, sugar and pepper to bring to a boil. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the bourbon. Correct the seasoning, adding salt, to taste.
