Tom Papa heads to Cleveland, the "Pierogi Pocket" of America, to bake up some serious comfort food, like Old World-style rye bread for the city's favorite mile-high corned beef sandwich and, of course, cheesy potato pierogis. In Little Italy, he makes a cloud-like cassata cake with mountains of whipped cream and strawberries. Chef Jonathon Sawyer shows Tom how to make the pot pie of his dreams with half a bone-in chicken in buttery blitz dough, and then he caps off his trip with a classic Hungarian dessert of sour cream dough, raspberries, walnuts and chocolate.
Geoffrey Zakarian kicks things off with a decadent Truffled Mushroom and Cheesy Mac and Cheese, and Sunny Anderson and Jeff Mauro show two new twists on Banana Bread. Then, find out just how bad some of your everyday habits really are and learn three sweet slow cooker hacks. Food Network's Amanda Freitag stops by to make a comforting classic Pork on Pork and Nancy Fuller joins for Geoffrey's Hot Buttered Rum cocktail.

Alex digs back into her roots and brings to life some of her family's favorite comfort dishes. She takes a simple pork meatball and transforms it into "a crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside" masterpiece. She slathers it with her mom's signature marinara sauce. It's the perfect tomato sauce with hints of basil, carrot, and red pepper flakes. For a side, Alex stuffs an artichoke with all of her favorite flavors of Italian cooking - fennel, bread crumbs, cheese, and garlic. And for dessert, a chocolate crostada filled with an oozy dark chocolate center.
