ALDI is known for its fervent fans and sometimes offbeat offerings. With dedicated customers scouring the aisles for new and interesting finds, the grocery store chain knows that shoppers can get attached to certain products — and can risk disappointing diehards when something stops appearing on shelves.

But this fall, for the first time ever, ALDI is bringing back a previously sold-out item based on its sixth annual Fan Favorites vote asking shoppers to pick their go-to products of the year.

In the category of “ALDI Encore,” meaning a product that ALDI fans wished would make a comeback, the winner is (drumroll): the Huntington Home Swedish Dish Cloth.

Yes, among all the delectable, edible items ALDI sells, its most dedicated devotees were hungriest for the return of a scrubby paper towel replacement. That might be because when the dish cloths hit stores in February of 2024, they sold out within two weeks.

If you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, pairs of the 100-percent cotton dish cloths sell at ALDI for just $4.99 (about $10 less than normal retail), so these reusable, eco-friendly, odor-resistant alternatives to wasteful paper are also economical.

“With shoppers becoming more environmentally conscious, we brought the Huntington Home Swedish Dish Cloths to the ALDI Finds aisle, and they quickly became our top selling basic towels at ALDI with a sell-through of 90% after just two weeks on shelf in February 2024 alone,” Chantel Hailer, ALDI Director of Buying for Trends told Food Network. “Aside from the fun prints and being super soft and absorbent, ALDI shoppers love the Huntington Home Swedish Dish Cloth because they are durable, easy to wash, and reusable- making them an eco-friendly, quality kitchen staple, available at a low price.”

The Huntington Home Swedish Dish Cloth will return to ALDI stores on November 13, 2024. The dish cloths will be available in four holiday season themes, featuring images like Santa’s sleigh, a festive Christmas tree and a wintery vintage car pattern. If they sell anything like last time, you’ll probably want to get yours quickly.

As for the other dozen 2024 ALDI Fan Favorites categories, the brand announced the following winners below:
