Taco Bell Is Bringing Back an Item Fans Have Been Begging For
Here’s what you need to know about its big return.

If there’s one thing Taco Bell loves, it’s bringing a beloved menu item back from the dead. Just days after announcing that it would bring back its Cheesy Dipping Burritos and Steak Garlic Nacho Fries (both featuring Creamy Garlic Sauce) on December 18, the fast food chain has announced that, the very same day, it will also reintroduce the fan-favorite Quesarito to menus nationwide for a limited time.

What is the Taco Bell Quesarito?
The Quesarito is a cross between a quesadilla and a burrito (get it?), featuring seasoned beef, seasoned rice, chipotle sauce and reduced-fat sour cream. All those items are combined and “burrito-wrapped inside a grilled quesadilla packed with melted cheeses and Nacho Cheese sauce,” as the brand describes it.
When was the Quesarito discontinued?
Introduced in 2014, Taco Bell’s Quesarito was removed from the chain’s menu in April 2023, sparking an outcry and demands for its return on social media. Disappointed fans attempted to customize burrito orders to recreate the Quesarito, but it wasn’t quite the same.
“The Quesarito was not just another fast food item; it represented innovation and diversity in the fast food industry. Its removal has left a void in the hearts of many Taco Bell patrons who considered it their go-to order,” wrote one person who started a petition on Change.org.
“I’d sell my first born for a quesarito,” one fan responded.
“Nothing compares,” another wrote.
Recognizing that the Quesarito has “long held a special place in Taco Bell history” and become one of its “most talked-about mashups,” the chain has decided to bring it back.
“We heard our fans loud and clear,” Luis Restrepo, Taco Bell’s chief marketing officer, says in a statement. “Their passion turned the Quesarito into a Taco Bell legend and bringing it back for the holidays felt like the perfect way to celebrate that energy.”
When is Taco Bell’s Quesarito coming back?
The Quesarito will be back on Taco Bell menus nationwide for a limited time on December 18. It will be priced at $4.99.
On Tuesday, December 23, at 2 p.m. PT, Taco Bell will also offer 30,000 Taco Bell Rewards Members (first come, first served) a Quesarito for $1 in the Taco Bell app as a special “Tuesday Drop.”
