Fans Vote Beloved Aldi Frozen Pizza Into the Chain’s “Hall of Fame”

Aldi fans have spoken — and they’re putting Mama Cozzi's Pizza Kitchen Take and Bake Deli Pizza into the grocery chain’s Fan Favorites “Hall of Fame” as its first inductee.
The pizza, available in five different varieties (Pepperoni, Five Cheese, Supreme, Thin Crust Mega and Sausage & Pepperoni), received its honor thanks to 100,000 loyal Aldi fans who responded to the store’s fourth annual Fan Favorites survey, the results of which have just been announced. The extra-large (16”) pizzas have been voted a favorite product every year since Aldi launched the survey in 2019, claiming the “Overall Fan Favorite” title in 2020.
This year, Specially Selected Ravioli, available in Classic Cheese and Spinach & Mozzarella varieties, collected the fan-bestowed honors in the “What’s for Dinner?” Category, beating out seven dinner-table competitors.
Fresh strawberries, which are delivered daily to Aldi stores, as is all the chain’s produce, claimed the “Produce Pick” trophy for the third time, following wins in 2019 and 2021.
In what the chain says were extremely “close calls” Giambellino Peach Bellini edged out Zarita Strawberry Margarita and Belletti Prosecco to win the “Clink & Drink” honors; Specially Selected Indulgent Greek Yogurt and fresh blueberries just squeaked by Kirkwood Breaded Chicken Filets (or, as Aldi fans are also wont to call the product, “Red Bag Chicken”) with Specially Selected Brioche Buns to be named as top “Dynamic Duo,” product pairs the chain’s shoppers most enjoy buying together.
Specially Selected Indulgent Greek Yogurt also collected top honors in the “Get Up & Go” category, becoming the first product to claim top spots in two different categories in a single year.
Other 2022 fan-picked favorites included Emporium Selection Aged Reserve White Cheddar (Category: “Best for Boards”), Simply Nature Organic White Cheddar Puffs (“Kiddy Cravings”), PurAqua Sparkling Flavored Water (“Hydration Station”), Simply Nature Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil (“Pantry Staple”), Fresh Atlantic Salmon (which Aldi said was a “runaway rookie winner” for “Catch of the Day”), Kirkwood Fresh Chicken Tenderloins (“Meating Your Needs”), and Heart to Tail Dog Treats (“Pet Pick”).
“With 100 Aldi-exclusive products to choose from across this year’s Fan Favorites survey, we have first-time winners in 11 of the 13 categories,” Scott Patton, Aldi’s vice president national buying, said in a news release. “Aldi shoppers really appreciate our selection and know that we’ve put in time and effort to offer them a wide variety of products to love. The fact that they also took the time to fill out our survey just shows that #AldiLove runs deep.”
