Milk Bar and Oscar Mayer Are Bringing Us Hot Dog Cakes

Most people celebrate their birthday with some kind of cake. But if you’re iconic hot dog brand Oscar Mayer, you do things differently. Whether it’s hiring Hot Doggers to drive around the country in giant Wienermobiles or giving away those coveted “Wiener Whistles,” Oscar Mayer has a tradition of quirky promotional stunts. And for its 90th birthday this year, the brand is mashing up something sweet and savory to celebrate.
What is Oscar Mayer's hot dog cake?
Oscar Mayer has teamed with the baking experts at Milk Bar to release an official Oscar Mayer Wiener Cake, to be sold in Milk Bar locations later this month. The base of two-tiered confection is Milk Bar’s popular confetti-dotted birthday cake. But in addition to frosting, this cake is dressed up around the sides with actual Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners, buns and all. According to the announcement, to stay on-theme, the cake features red and yellow “ketchup and mustard” confetti sprinkles, as well as “a commemorative custom Wienermobile cake topper.” With over 20 real hot dogs plus an entire cake, it’s basically a birthday buffet all in one box.
According to Oscar Mayer, some of the inspiration for the hot dog cake comes from social media, including TikTok, where you can find millions of posts reacting to or creating hot dog cakes (if you’re brave enough to try yourself).
The Milk Bar cake isn’t Oscar Mayer’s first foray into desserts. In 2022, the brand turned its Wienermobiles into makeshift ice cream trucks, handing out hot dog-flavored ice pops.

What else is Oscar Mayer doing for its 90th birthday?
As an added treat, Oscar Mayer is inviting its fellow nonagenarians to celebrate in with a special visit from the Wienermobile. Anyone celebrating a 90th birthday in July or August of 2026 is eligible to request a visit on Oscar Mayer's website.
“From hometown events and parades to weddings — and even a professional race— the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile has been there for millions of fans’ biggest moments, capturing their hearts and cementing its legacy in America’s zeitgeist,” Molle Twing, Senior Brand Manager for the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, said.
When can you buy the Oscar Mayer x Milk Bar hot dog cakes?
Starting this Friday, hot dog fans can head to certain Milk Bar stores in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City to purchase their own Oscar Mayer Wiener Cake. The $90 cakes will be sold from July 31 through August 2, but only while supplies last.
