Our moms may have once told us to never play with our food, but chances are, we did anyway. And one of the ways we liked to have fun with said food was biting holes in our lunchtime bologna and turning it into a face mask.

Of course, that was years before sheet masks were a very real thing in every drugstore beauty aisle. And those masks are not made of bologna, but rather a whole bunch of moisturizing and skin benefiting agents. But, maybe now the bologna masks of our youth and the sheet masks of modern day have found some common ground.

Oscar Mayer has launched a Bologna Sheet Mask, and it’s the real deal. It’s a sheet mask just like we’d see at a spa, created by Korean beauty and skincare company Seoul Mamas, with all the benefits of a traditional face mask, from hydration to skin protection.

However, the fun part of this specific face mask is that while it’s not made of bologna, it’s made to resemble the beloved lunch meat.

“Oscar Mayer has a legacy bringing levity to things that have gotten too serious, and beauty is a ripe territory to playfully subvert,” said Lindsey Ressler, Sr. Marketing Analyst, Oscar Mayer, in a statement. “Inspired by those who used to playfully make masks out of their bologna as kids, this product was born as a modern-day way to spark smiles for fans of Oscar Mayer and beauty enthusiasts alike. This is the latest in our brand movement to create work that feels more like pop-art and less like traditional commercial advertising – inspired by the old, modernized for today.”

These face masks are available for purchase for a limited time on Amazon.

Interestingly, our new year wellness regime is feeling a lot like the ideas we had as a kid! We knew we were onto something …
