2 Million Baked Goods Across the U.S. Have Been Recalled
Dunkin’ doughnuts are among 60 products affected by the Class II recall.

Big baked-good recall alert: About two million pastries, spanning 60 products sold across the United States, have been recalled in response to concerns that they may be contaminated with listeria, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Among the baked products recalled are several doughnuts and coffee rolls sold by Dunkin’.
The voluntary recall was initiated by baked-goods company FGF Brands on January 7, 2025, according to an enforcement report issued by the FDA. On Wednesday, February 5, 2025, the recall was boosted to a “Class II” designation, which the agency says indicates “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
All the recalled products — spanning a range of bars, cakes, doughnuts, crullers, coffee rolls and more — are “within expiration produced 12/13/24 and prior,” according to an FDA chart, and are subject to recall due to “potential for contamination with listeria monocytogenes.”
The FDA lists the recall status as “Ongoing.”
Symptoms of listeria monocytogenes in otherwise healthy people may include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, diarrhea and abdominal pain, which often pass without complication. However, the risks are higher for young children, elderly people and those with weakened immune systems; in those cases, infections may be severe or even fatal. For pregnant women, listeria monocytogenes infection increases the risk of miscarriage and stillbirth.
In an “Important Update on Recent Media Coverage Related to Voluntary Recall of Donuts” posted on its website, FGF Brands says the recall was completed in early January and “does not implicate anything that is currently or was recently on the market,” was a “precautionary measure based on non product related findings at one of our donut facilities in the U.S.” and pertains only to products sold in the U.S. — presumably meaning that products sold in Canada, where the company is based, are unaffected.
In addition, the company says all of its doughnuts are safe to consume.
“No donuts or food contact surfaces ever tested positive for listeria,” FGF Brands says.
