Best Friends Bobby Flay and Michael Symon to Face Off on BBQ Brawl
The new series heats up on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 9|8c.

You know that Bobby Flay is the undisputed grill master here at Food Network. And Michael Symon is the reigning king of all things meat. So, which of them would win in an all-out BBQ Brawl? We’re about to find out.
On the brand-new series BBQ Brawl: Flay v. Symon, premiering Thursday, Aug. 1 at 9|8c, these longtime chef-friends will gather teams of top-notch pitmasters, grillers and barbecue experts from across the country for a little friendly — and, yeah, fierce — showdown. Bobby and Michael are battling for bragging rights between them, but the contest runs deeper; the contenders on their teams are competing as well, as a prize is on the line.
The first challenge in each episode will be between Bobby and Michael only; whoever wins that cook-off earns an advantage for his team in Round 2. And that’s when things heat up. With mentorship, guidance and a little hands-on demonstration, Bobby and Michael will coach their team members through themed challenges, with one person from each team saying goodbye every week. At the end of the season, one person will be named the Master of ‘Cue and secure a win for his or her coach too.
