Vegetable Slaw with Horseradish and Mustard

3/4 cup finely julienned (2-inches long) green cabbage

3/4 cup finely julienned (2-inches long) carrots

1/2 cup finely julienned (1-inch long) red onions

2 tablespoons thinly sliced scallions

1 tablespoon freshly grated horseradish

1/2 clove garlic, finely minced 

2 tablespoons creme fraiche 

2 tablespoons champagne vinegar 

1 teaspoon whole-grain mustard 

1/4 teaspoon celery seeds, toasted 

Salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. In a large bowl combine the cabbage, carrots, onions, scallions, horseradish and garlic. In a small bowl, whisk together the creme fraiche, vinegar, mustard and celery seeds. Toss the slaw with the dressing and season everything with salt and pepper. Marinade the slaw for 1 hour.
  2. Drain as desired, depending on the consistency you are looking for.
