Mulled Wine

2 bottles Cabernet Sauvignon

3 lemons, juiced

1/2 cup superfine sugar or more to taste

4 sticks cinnamon

1 tablespoon whole cloves or more, to taste

1 tablespoon whole allspice berries or freshly grated nutmeg

1 orange, sliced

1 lemon, sliced


  1. In a large saucepan, combine the wine, lemon juice, and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add the cinnamon, cloves, allspice, or nutmeg, and orange and lemon slices. Heat, but do not boil. Lower the heat and simmer 15 minutes. Strain the wine into heated mugs and serve at once.;
