The word ‘spritz’ originated in Germany and means ‘splash.’ When applied to a drink, it refers to a wine-based cocktail, typically served over ice, often with a fruit garnish. Ree’s spritz is especially refreshing and suitable for the summer months, garnished with strawberries.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Mix the wine, strawberries, limes, oranges and rosemary in a large pitcher. Refrigerate for a couple of hours if possible. (The drink can be made up to 12 hours in advance and stored in the fridge.)
  2. To serve, fill a glass with ice and fill two-thirds of the way with the wine mix. Top with club soda and stir. Serve garnished with rosemary sprigs.
