Let's do crunch! The extra-crispy menu is piled high with pork rind brisket nachos, spicy Korean double-fried chicken, authentic British fish and chips, inventive eggrolls, country-fried Wagyu burgers, fried soft-shell crab and even some creative cookies.
Diners pull over and fill up on gourmet delights at these road food hot spots across the country, from classic burgers and frosty root beer floats right off of Route 61 in Louisiana to fish and chips on the Pacific Coast Highway.
The remaining recruits must use exotic proteins to grind out some unforgettable burgers. After serving their original sliders to Chef Anne Burrell and Chef Tyler Florence, the recruits learn they must each fillet a whole cod to make homemade fish and chips.
Guy Fieri meets cooks doing things their own way: In Flagstaff, Ariz., a family place where the beef stew is made from tenderloin; in San Diego, a restaurant in a fish market where two brothers insist their way is the only way to do fresh fish right; and in Chicago, at a dive bar where a heavy metal fan is turning out nearly two dozen different burgers named for rock bands.
