Easy Ingredient Swaps
For 1 cup heavy cream:
Combine 2/3 cup whole milk with 1/3 cup melted butter. (Note: This mixture will not whip! Just use it to stand in for the richness of cream in things like sauces.)
For 1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar:
Combine 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar, 1 teaspoon grape jelly and 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce.
For 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar:
Combine 2 teaspoons lemon juice with 1 teaspoon apple juice.
For 1 teaspoon espresso:
Use 2 teaspoons strong brewed coffee.
For baking with butter:
Use equal parts oil
