It’s hard to believe summer’s almost over, but it’s already back-to-school time. Visions of fresh notebooks, unsharpened pencils and shiny new shoes are dancing in our heads. In the midst of all the shopping, you might get hungry. Or maybe you just need to give your wallet a break after ticking off every item on your classroom list. Either way, restaurant and grocery chains nationwide are celebrating the season by offering deals and freebies to students, teachers and families.
Here are some offers that rise to the top of the class:

Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon: In celebration of back-to-school season, Cinnabon and Auntie Anne’s are offering their Rewards members a special treat: a free MiniBon and Original Pretzel with the purchase of $30 in gift cards on either brand’s website. The offer is valid through September 1. The Reward Codes for the treats can be redeemed through September 30 at participating Auntie Anne's and Cinnabon locations.
Cinnabon: For back-to-school season, Cinnabon is offering families with children under 12 a sweet Sunday treat: a free 5-count CinnaSweeties (cinnamon-sugared bite-size doughnuts with a side of frosting) with the purchase of any baked good. The offer is valid in-store only at participating locations and limited to one per transaction.
Einstein Bros. Bagels: Now through September 2, Einstein Bros. is offering Rewards members a Back to School Breakfast Savings price of $10 on its Build Your Own or Fresh & Ready Baker’s Dozen Bagels with Two Tubs of Shmear. Order online or through the Einstein Bros. Bagels Mobile App to redeem the reward.
Kentucky Fried Chicken: KFC is running a few family-friendly deals for back-to-school season. Starting August 18, the chain is offering $3.99 KFC Chicken Sandwiches and a weeknight-rescuing $20 Wings & Wedges Fan Favorites Box. The box includes 10 Hot & Spicy Wings, 12 KFC Chicken Nuggets, Potato Wedges, four biscuits and four dipping sauces. Then, beginning September 4, KFC digital customers can snag 20 Wings for $20 (20 Hot & Spicy Wings and four dipping sauces of your choice). And $10 Tuesdays are returning, too: your choice of eight pieces of classic fried chicken or eight Original Recipe Tenders for $10, every week.
Meijer: This autumn, the supermarket chain is dropping prices by as much to 50 percent on certain grocery items to “help families adjust to the busier mornings and packed lunches that come with a new school year.” The list includes Meijer instant oatmeal, peanut butter and jelly, bread, cereal, fruit snacks, granola bars, pancake mix, syrup and yogurt. Discounted prices are valid through September 30.
Moe’s Southwest Grill: Until the end of August, kids can eat free once a week at participating locations of Moe’s Southwest Grill; rewards members get one free kids’ meal with the purchase of an adult entree. And through September 7, the chain is offering a National Back-to-School Catering deal: You can get 15 percent off catering orders of $350 and up when you use code B2SCHOOL25.

McAlister’s Deli: The deli and sandwich chain is offering two back-to-school deals. One is a free dessert reward for eGift or Gift Card purchases of at least $25 through August 31. The reward can be redeemed between September 1 and October 31, 2025, at participating McAlister Deli locations. The other offers $30 off catering orders of at least $200 placed before September 30, 2025, when you use the code B2S30.
7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes: To welcome the back-to-school season, the trio of convenience stores is offering customers any breakfast sandwich and any size coffee for just $5 at participating locations through August 26.
