Picture a trip to the mall in its glory days: Air conditioning blasting, pop music playing and the sweet smell of Cinnabon wafting through the air. For 40 years, the chain has been the highlight of our shopping sprees. It’s the little treat that helps us power through boring errands. It comforts us as we kill time at the airport.
Now, Cinnabon is celebrating this legacy with a nostalgic deal. From 12 to 4 p.m. on Friday, August 22, Rewards Members can get a Classic Cinnamon roll for the original 1985 price of $1.25. In 2025, a roll costs around $6 to $8, depending on your location . (Sigh.)
“For four decades, Cinnabon has been delighting fans with the world’s most irresistible treat — and it all started with the iconic Classic Cinnamon Roll. As we mark our 40th Birthday, we’re celebrating the timeless craveability of Cinnabon and the source of countless sweet memories for our fans,” Urvi Patel, Chief Brand Officer at Cinnabon, says in a press release.
The fun doesn’t stop there. Cinnabon is also releasing a limited-edition backpack with a neon, ’80s-inspired design. It works as a back-to-school fashion statement, complete with an insulated pouch for carrying warm cinnamon rolls. You can pre-order one now, while supplies last.
And, if you’re feeling ambitious, celebrate Cinnabon’s anniversary at home by baking a batch of our copycat rolls.
