Chipotle Is Offering Free Guac and Chips for 2 Days Only

Guac is famously extra at Chipotle. However, on National Avocado Day, which is celebrated every year on July 31, it’s free. Yes, it’s an exciting day for cash-strapped guacamole fans. And this year, for the first time, the chain is offering free chips with that free guac and expanding its National Avocado Day celebration to last two full days: July 31 and August 1.
The two-day “hand-mashed guac” and “house-made chips” freebie is one of the chain's biggest National Avocado Day offers ever, Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing, says in a statement.
“For the first time, we’re giving fans two full days to celebrate with free chips and guac with the purchase of an entree, because one day simply isn’t enough for something this extra.”
What exactly is Chipotle offering for National Avocado Day this year?
For two days — Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1 — you can get a free regular side of chips and guacamole with the purchase of a full-priced entree when you order on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com and use the code AVO2026 at checkout. The offer is valid at participating Chipotle restaurants in the U.S. and Canada.
Is there any fine print?
Isn’t there always? Bur really, nothing major. The code can be used only once “per eligible transaction,” the brand says, and is subject to availability. It can’t be used on in-restaurant orders, catering orders, “Burritos by the Box” or orders placed through third-party platforms. It can't be combined with other coupons, promotions or special offers.
Also note that Chipotle kids' meals do not qualify as an entree purchase. (Sorry, kids.)
What’s so special about Chipotle’s guacamole, anyway?
Chipotle says its guac is “hand-mashed” in its restaurants throughout the day and that each batch is made with 48 “whole, ripe Hass avocados, which are revered for their rich, creamy texture.”
Sure, “revered” might be a little extra. But hey, free guac and chips, everyone.
