Listen up, Dunkaroos fans! Less than a year after the much-beloved ’90s snack made its highly anticipated return to store shelves, we have yet another reason to celebrate — Dunkaroos cereal is officially on the way.

According to General Mills, the makers of Dunkaroos, consumers can expect to see this sugary breakfast food make its triumphant debut this winter. “Packed with nostalgia in every spoonful, Dunkaroos Cereal brings vanilla frosting-flavored cookie cereal together with sweet and crunchy rainbow sprinkles for a whole new breakfast experience,” press materials read.

The cereal’s upcoming release was also confirmed on Monday via (where else?) the Dunkaroos Instagram account, alongside a picture of the vibrant green and purple box that was designed to look like the snack’s original packaging in all its ’90s glory. “The rumors are real, Dunkaroos cereal is coming soon!” the caption read. “Kicking off the new year with even more nostalgia, available early January 2021!”

According to a press release, a mid-size box will cost $3.99, while a family-size box is expected to retail for $4.99. The release also noted that the Dunkaroos cereal is just one of many new upcoming offerings from General Mills. Other cereals slated to debut in 2021 include LARABAR Cereal, Chocolate Strawberry Cheerios and Chocolate Toast Crunch Churros Cereal.

If you were a kid in the ’90s (or an adult with a respectable sweet tooth) you’re likely familiar with Dunkaroos — a celebrated snack consisting of cookies and frosting packed with rainbow sprinkles. As the sweet treat’s moniker implies, the cookies were meant to be dunked into the frosting prior to being eaten.

Dunkaroos debuted in 1992 and remained on the market for about 20 years before being officially discontinued by General Mills in 2012. However, the brand opted to bring the snack back in May of this year and it can now be found at supermarkets and convenience stores across the country.

In addition to the much anticipated Dunkaroos cereal, there is now also Dunkaroos cookie dough, Dunkaroos merch and more. Way to make a comeback, Dunkaroos!
