Was there ever a better time to be a pickle fan? Look around, and you will find the world is overflowing with briny, dill-inspired trinkets that approximate the real thing in aesthetics to the best of their ability. But gift-giving for the pickle lover in your life just got a whole lot easier, if not a little weirder in the best way, thanks to a new mashup that offers something we didn’t see coming: a candle that smells like a pickle.
Grillo’s Pickles, which started as a street food cart in downtown Boston, has teamed up with Los Angeles-based P.F. Candle Co. to concoct the ultimate home fragrance for anyone who can’t get enough of that tangy, saltwater scent. Rolling out not just in time for the season of holiday gifting but for National Pickle Day on November 14, the candle adds to Grillo’s growing range of cool, offbeat pickle merch. (The collection already includes street-wear style clothing, hats and even a cookbook.)

What does the Grillo’s pickle candle smell like?
P.F. Candle Co. and Grillo’s Pickles are putting all the best elements of a classic dill pickle into their waxy creation, with notes of “crisp cucumber, garden-fresh herbs, a splash of zesty lemon, and a playful hint of dewy florals make this candle fresh, funky, and delightfully unexpected,” according to the brands. Grillo’s calls its first foray into pickle-scented home goods a “mouth-watering, nose-pleasing soy candle designed for chilling out and eating pickles.” And when you think about it, there may be nothing as welcoming as the fresh, vinegar-soaked aroma of pickles wafting through a room.
Each candle is vegan, cruelty-free and made with domestically-grown soy wax.
Where and when can you find the Grillo’s pickle candle?
The candle will be sold for $28 on the Grillo’s Pickles website starting November 14. It’s also be available now at P.F. Candle Co.’s Brooklyn shop, while supplies last.
