You Can Now Buy Those Viral Victorian Cakes at Walmart for $25
Seemingly reserved for small bakeries and skilled home bakers, you can now snag a vintage-style centerpiece at a drastically more affordable price point.

There’s nothing more aesthetically pleasing than a vintage heart-shaped cake with its various piping techniques, cherry accents and vibrant colors. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary, graduation or holiday, a vintage-style cake can do the trick and Walmart just hopped on the bandwagon.
Up until recently, small businesses and home bakers seemed to be the sole makers of these cakes. Also known as Lambeth or Victorian piping, the ornate decorating style dates back to the 19th century and originates from Europe. (Watch Carla Hall break down the technique here.)
But now, customers can purchase made-to-order Lambeth cakes at Walmart for just $25.
This is a stark contrast from the $100 to $150 price point many private bakers must charge for the specialty cakes, making the (likely less customizable and less intricate) Walmart versions appealing for shoppers looking for a more budget-friendly option.
Cake orders can be made in-store at select Walmart bakeries or online as of now. The 10-inch cakes are designed to have 24 servings and when you order online you can personalize the cake by choosing the flavor (variations of chocolate and vanilla), adding an optional filling — strawberry or bavarian cream (for an additional $3), selecting a frosting style (buttercream or whipped) and including an optional handwritten message in icing with up to 50 characters in a color of your choice.
TikTok users have even posted videos showing their admiration for these affordable cakes saying they have “no complaints.” Even Walmart cake decorators have also posted TikTok videos of themselves making these heart-shaped cakes in the kitchen with commenters saying, “My baker at Walmart slayed my heart cake I ordered” and “Walmart bakers/cake decorators are artists, no one can change my mind.”
