19 Deals and Freebies You Can Get on National Ice Cream Day
The chill holiday falls on July 19 this year. Here’s the scoop on all the offers.

No need to scream. You and I — we all, really — are in for plenty of dessert deals this National Ice Cream Day. The holiday, which dates back to 1984, is celebrated each year on the third Sunday in July. This year, that falls on Sunday, July 19.
On that day — and in fact, through the month of July, which is National Ice Cream Month — lots of business are offering free or discounted scoops, cones and pints. Here are some cool deals to scoop up.
16 Handles: On National Ice Cream Day Sunday, July 19, customers can get a free froyo (up to $5 value) at any location nationwide with the 16 Handles app.
Baskin-Robbins: Baskin-Robbins is celebrating National Ice Cream Day for an entire week. Beginning on National Ice Cream Day, July 19, Baskin-Robbins Rewards members can get $5 off an order of $20 or more through July 25. Then, on July 26, the ice-cream holiday fun continues with a buy-one-get-one Free Single Scoop offer for Rewards members.
Carvel: This National Ice Cream Day, July 19, Carvel is turning dessert fails into free ice cream for 500 people who submit photos of their “dessert disasters” (their most disappointing frozen treats) through July 24. Winners will receive a gift card for a free Carvelanche — Carvel's mashup of soft serve "piled high with an avalanche of mix-ins.”
Dairy Queen (DQ): In celebration of National Ice Cream Day, from July 13 through 19, DQ Rewards members can enjoy a free Dilly Bar (DQ vanilla soft serve coated in a chocolate shell) with any purchase of $1 or more made through the DQ App. The deal is available at participating U.S. locations and is limited to one per customer, while supplies last.
Del Taco: In celebration of National Ice Cream Day, from July 17 through July 19, Del Taco is offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on Regular Shakes, available in classic flavors, at participating locations for Del Yeah! Rewards members on orders placed via the Del Taco app or deltaco.com.
Friendly’s: This year, Friendly's is marking National Ice Cream Day with a freebie celebrating the brand’s 91st year. On Sunday, July 19, every guest at Friendly's locations nationwide can get a free cone or dish. No rewards membership or purchase is necessary to get the deal, which is available for either dine-in or carry-out.
Gopuff: To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, Gopuff is offering special promotions from July 13 through July 19. Customers can purchase two pints of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for $8 or two pints of Halo Top ice cream for $10. They can also get 30% off Snickers and Twix Ice Cream Bar packs. Gopuff FAM members can access select pints from Magnum Ice Cream, Ben & Jerry’s, Breyer’s and other brands for only $3.50 per pint.

Häagen-Dazs: On National Ice Cream Day, Sunday, July 19, Häagen-Dazs Shops are offering a Buy One, Get One Free sundae deal for rewards members. The offer is valid on the three featured sundaes: Caramel Cone Sundae, Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Sundae and Hot Fudge & Caramel Sundae. You can join the rewards program by downloading the Häagen-Dazs app through the App Store or signing up on www.haagendazs.us.
Harry Potter Shops: To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, the Harry Potter Shops in New York and Chicago are debuting four new ice cream flavors inspired by each Hogwarts House — Gryffindor Raspberry, Ravenclaw Blue Raspberry, Slytherin Pistachio and Hufflepuff Banana Ripple — as well as Harry Potter-inspired toppings like House-colored sprinkles, Jelly Slugs and Mini Chocolate Frogs. The flavors and toppings are available for a limited time from July 19 through July 26, and on Sunday, July 19, the first 100 people to visit each store will receive a complimentary ice cream with toppings while supplies last.
Insomnia Cookies: From Friday, July 17, through Sunday, July 19, you can get a free two-scoop cup of ice cream with a purchase of $5 or more at all U.S. Insomnia Cookies bakeries or on eligible local delivery orders placed through InsomniaCookies.com or the Insomnia Cookies app. The offer is not available on pickup orders. No Insomnia Rewards membership is required, but members can earn double points throughout the weekend.
Marble Slab Creamery: On National Ice Cream Day, July 19, loyalty members will receive a free small ice cream. You an become a loyalty member by downloading the Marble Slab Creamery app or signing up online.
My/Mochi Ice Cream: Every Friday in July, My/Mochi is giving away “summer chill packs” with free ice cream coupons, sun hats, lip balms and other fun merch. To enter the giveaway, follow My/Mochi on Instagram, like this post, comment with your summer plans and tag a friend. Weekly winners will get a “summer chill pack,” and on National Ice Cream Day, July 19, one Grand Prize Winner will win a year's supply of My/Mochi ice cream.
Oberweis: Guests who visit an Oberweis store on National Ice Cream Day and purchase two pints of the chain’s new High Protein Ice Cream (with 30 grams of protein per pint, available in Vanilla, Strawberry, Cookie Dough and Chocolate) will get a free Oberweis pint koozie.

Petco: The pet store chain is offering pets a chance to get in on the National Ice Cream Day deal action with a one-day only offer. On July 19, Petco is offering free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for pups at most Petco stores nationwide, while supplies last. No purchase necessary — just ask for the promo at checkout — but you must have a Petco Perks membership. You can sign up for free.
Stop & Shop: The supermarket chain is bringing back its free National Ice Cream Day ice cream giveaway for 2026. From July 17 through July 23, customers can receive a free 1.5-quart tub of Stop & Shop brand ice cream (15 flavors available, while supplies last) by checking in at an in-store Savings Station kiosk with their GO Rewards account. No purchase is required.
Target: Through July 18, Target is offering a buy-one-get-one-50-percent-off deal on ice cream for those stocking up for National Ice Cream Day on July 19. The deal is valid whether you are “reaching for Favorite Day's playful new seasonal flavors, feel-good Good & Gather frozen bars or popular national brands.”
Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace: Customers can enjoy two scoops of any gelato for just $2.50 at this specialty Italian grocery chain, which has locations in New York and New Jersey, on July 19.
Wendy’s: Wendy’s is offering a $1 small Frosty (Chocolate or Vanilla) with any purchase from July 20 through August 23 at participating locations nationwide. The offer is valid on orders placed in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, through the app or on wendys.com, but delivery orders are excluded. On National Ice Cream Day, July 19, Wendy’s Rewards members get exclusive early access to the deal: a $1 Frosty when they order in-app.
Yasso: To celebrate National Ice Cream Day on July 19, Yasso is taking its frozen Greek yogurt to the streets with a fully branded Froyo Truck popping up in various NYC neighborhoods from July 19 through July 21. Fans can get free samples of Yasso Spoonables with toppings from Unreal and Catalina Crunch. Yasso will also be giving away gift cards to local froyo shops and Yasso coupons for people to stock their freezers at home.
