Scene: You’re running late for work, a meeting or a flight. As you await your Uber, you realize, shoot, you forgot to eat or, darn, you could really use a cup of coffee. You don’t really have time to grab anything and guess you’ll just have to deal with the hunger pangs or caffeine-withdrawal headache.

Soon, that scenario may play out completely differently. Uber is launching a new feature called Eats for the Way that lets you order a coffee, tea or snack when you reserve an Uber Black or Uber Black SUV.

How does Uber’s new Eats for the Way work?

First, you book a ride via Uber Reserve. Once your ride is confirmed, you tap “add Uber Eats,” choose what you’d like to eat or drink from a nearby business and add it to your ride. Your driver will pick up your order on the way to you and your coffee, tea or snack will be waiting for you in the car when it pulls up. What a luxury.

“Whether you have an early morning or a packed schedule, Eats for the Way is the way to go,” the brand says.

Why is Uber launching Eats for the Way?

It’s part of Uber’s grand plan of “becoming the one app for everything” — rides, food and travel. And, of course, it’s convenient.

“We’re launching Eats for the Way to make our riders’ experience more efficient and enjoyable,” Akansha Trikha, director of product management at Uber, tells Food Network. “Whether it’s a morning coffee on the way to the office or a quick snack before the airport, this feature seamlessly blends rides and Eats in a way that fits naturally into your routine.”

Where and when will Uber’s Eats for the Way be available?

In the next few weeks, Uber will roll out Eats for the Way in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Atlanta, with more cities to follow thereafter.
