Girl Scout cookies … are … back. The 2022 cookie season, which officially kicked off on Wednesday, is now in full swing from coast to coast.
Of course, where there is excitement, there are Google searches. And over the last week, people have rushed to their computers to get the details on where to find Girl Scout cookies and how much they would cost, according to Google search trends. (We’ll save you the search: The info on how to buy Girl Scout cookies is here.)
Girl Scout cookie fans are especially curious about the latest addition to the cookie lineup, Adventurefuls, with “adventurefuls girl scout cookies review” emerging as a breakout search across the country. (You can find our review of the new cookie here.)
But interestingly, excitement over both the new cookies and returning favorites varied state by state, with searches in the past week spiking for different cookies across the country, according to Google.
So what were the most searched for cookies in each state? Popular searches have centered around just four cookies!
While people in South Dakota took to Google to seek out Do-si-dos, those in Iowa, Kansas and Arkansas were eagerly looking for Adventurefuls.
Folks in states as diverse and far flung as New Hampshire, Delaware, West Virginia, Alabama, Mississippi, Illinois, Wyoming and Alaska, meanwhile, were all about Tagalongs.
But in the remainder of the states — from the entire West Coast, including Washington, Oregon and California, to most of the East Coast, from Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland stretching on down to Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, not to mention the vast majority of states in between — one classic Girl Scout cookie reigned supreme: Thin Mints.
In fact, according to Google Trends, in the U.S. overall, Thin Mints are the most searched Girl Scout cookie of all time. We Americans love our Thin Mints!
