We got an early taste of Exploremores and they definitely deliver.

Anyone who orders Girl Scout Cookies has their favorite. Whether you’re a classic Thin Mints and Trefoils diehard or adventurous snacker snagging boxes of newer creations like Adventurefuls, once Girl Scout Cookie season begins it’s time to stock up. While we have seen some Girl Scout Cookies discontinued over the years, occasionally a new season of cookie sales brings with it a completely new cookie, and for 2026 the Girls Scouts are debuting a crunchy treat that’ll remind you of ice cream.
Girl Scouts are launching a new cookie for 2026.
For 2026, the Girl Scouts are unveiling new sandwich cookies called Exploremores. The chocolatey, creme-filled cookies are the first new sandwich cookie since the 2017 addition of Girl Scout S’mores. It could be considered that Exploremores are unofficially replacing the outgoing Girl Scout S’mores sandwich cookies which were discontinued starting this coming season.

Exploremores Girl Scout cookies are inspired by a classic ice cream flavor.
According to Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), the new Exploremores cookies are a take on rocky road ice cream. While you won’t find any chunks of nuts or marshmallows inside, they are “filled with delicious flavors of chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond–flavored crème,” the organization stated in its announcement. Using “rocky road” as a nod to hikes and outdoor adventures, GSUSA adds that, “Exploremores reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of every Girl Scout.”
We got an early preview of Exploremores to taste, and they definitely deliver on a more ice-cream-like chocolate flavor than we expected. That is to say, the nuttiness of almonds and some of that rich vanilla marshmallow flavoring cuts down the intensity of the chocolate resulting in an almost chocolate malted flavor, not unlike eating a spoonful of melty ice cream (except, you know, crunchy). While some previous additions, like Adventurefuls, have gone for big flavors like salted caramel brownies, Exploremores offer a more subtle, snackable option to the Girl Scout Cookie lineup.
When will the new Exploremores Girl Scout Cookies be available?
Girl Scout Cookie season varies by region and location, but officially runs from January through April. The new Exploremores cookies will be available starting in the 2026 selling season. To find out when cookies are on sale near you, GSUSA suggests texting “Cookies” to 59618 for updates, or check out girlscoutcookies.org.
Which Girl Scout Cookies were discontinued in 2026?
Sadly, while 2026 will see the debut of a new cookie flavor, it will also be lacking two relatively recent additions to the Girl Scout Cookies roster. Girl Scout S’mores, another sandwich cookie inspired by a classic treat, were launched in 2017 to celebrate the Girl Scouts 100th anniversary, and featured graham cookies with chocolate and marshmallow fillings. Toast-Yay! came on the scene in 2021 and were an iced homage to French toast, with each cookie shaped like a little slice of bread. Both cookies saw their final availability announced ahead of the 2025 season.
