Just like many staple kitchen products that you toss into your grocery cart haphazardly, trash bags feel like an item you want to put as little thought into as possible. I don’t blame you — after all, we’re literally talking about trash here. Luckily, I feel confident I’ve found a trash bag that will both get the job done and go the extra mile for you. These Glad ForceFlex trash bags not only have two layers of flexible plastic to resist punctures, rips and tears, but the added Febreze scent instantly gives our kitchens a lasting freshness that will block any gross odors from escaping, which is a win-win in our book.

The first time I used these bags, I was shocked by how pleasant of a smell they emitted — just shaking out the bag from the box left the kitchen smelling like I’d been burning a new candle. To my surprise, the scent didn’t stop after a couple minutes. It was not overpowering, but every time I opened the cabinet I still caught a slight hint of the Mediterranean Lavender rather than the pungent trash smell I was used to. Quickly, these bags turned my least favorite task into an enjoyable one, and I haven’t turned back.

Beyond smelling great, they function well, too. And other reviewers agree, one stating, “We have gone through bag after bag without a rip or leak, to date, despite our depositing and pouring into our toughest kitchen (and office) based trash, smashing down and overstuffing nearly every bag.” Another said that they, “Absolutely love these trash bags,” and that, “everytime I reach to put in a new bag you get that fresh flower smell. The smell isn't overpowering or pungent ... but has this airy light smell.”

Sometimes in your kitchen, even the smallest changes can make a big difference. For me, that has been switching to these trash bags. If lavender isn’t your ideal scent, you can also pick from other scents including Febreze Fresh Clean, Febreze Beachside Breeze, Gain Original Scent and Gain Moonlight Breeze.
