This is not a drill: East Fork is selling its beautiful ceramics made-to-order, so you can finally get your hands on its Internet-famous mug. For anyone who has never heard of East Fork’s viral creation, an Internet-famous mug seems like an oxymoron. Chances are, your kitchen cabinet is probably full of mugs, none of which have ever been deemed “famous.” But between selling out multiple times and receiving its very own hashtag (#TheMug, obviously), East Fork’s version has quickly become the best mug money can buy.

What makes this mug so amazing? And is it actually worth the $36 price tag? I’m glad you asked. Made with locally sourced clay, this mug is chip-resistant and can hold up to 12 fluid ounces of your favorite beverage. Not only does its ceramic walls protect your hands from scorching mint tea or frigid cold brew, but it also has a handle that was designed to feel like an extension of your hand.

While I was initially skeptical about East Fork’s iteration — I mean, it’s a mug — it was love at first sip. The Mug is cool to the touch, comfortable to hold, and spacious enough to fit a large helping of iced coffee. I love East Fork’s mug so much that I honestly get a little bummed if it’s in the dishwasher. Best of all, East Fork’s mug is available in several glazes, so you are bound to find an option that suits your style.

Right now, customers can pre-order the Mug in three different glazes: an off-white shade called Eggshell, Morel’s brown hue, and Soapstone, a blue-gray color that will be retired come fall.

“[We’ve] been bouncing around the idea of offering our seasonal glazes on a pre-order basis for years, as a way to accommodate the demand for our fun, limited colors without leaving a bunch of customers disappointed,” explains Connie Matisse, East Fork’s co-founder and CMO. “Now, customers can shop at their own pace, without worrying that something is going to go out of stock before they hit checkout.”

The catch? You will have to wait a little longer than normal to get your mug. East Fork says orders will ship out within eight weeks, and has placed a dollar cap on the pre-order to make sure you won’t have to wait any longer.

“When people understand how much care and love and attention is going into every corner of how we're running our business, they're happy to wait, and we're grateful for it,” Matisse adds.

The Mug is rarely in stock (yes, it’s that popular), so you might want to buy one before the pre-order event ends. Trust me, the wait will be worth it.
