"City Chicken" may hail from the Depression era, but this meal is anything but dreary. Michael Symon takes the now Midwestern classic and revives it as Cast Iron Pork Tenderloin. He adds asparagus to grilled, breaded pork and pairs the nutty flavors with a tangy dressing, adding horseradish to resurrect the dish and give it a new lease of life. Last but not least, Michael's wife, Lizzie, joins him to make foolproof Mason Jar Strawberry Ice Cream.
Melissa has a tailgate menu to satisfy the hungry masses without breaking a sweat -- or breaking the budget. Her Grilled Spicy Sausages get served with two homemade condiments: a sweet-spicy Onion Marmalade, and a Tomato Chutney scented with herbs de provence. For dessert, Yellow Cakes in a Jar With Chocolate Ganache are a fun and convenient way to bring sweets to the game. Ginger Lemonade is a cool, refreshing drink to wash down this satisfying meal.
Casserole Queen Damaris Phillips is at Bobby Flay's house with one mission: to convert him into a casserole believer! As they chat about one-pot meals, Damaris wins Bobby over with a taste of her Doughnut Casserole. Then, Bobby brings Southwestern flavors to the casserole dish with his Chilaquiles Strata and a Tomato-Corn-Avocado Salad with Green Onion Vinaigrette. But that's not all -- Damaris also whips up a Smokey Chicken, Broccoli Rabe and Wild Rice Casserole.
After completing an album of Frank Sinatra covers, Trisha Yearwood is inspired to recreate some of the crooner's favorite Italian meals with her own spin, since Ol' Blue Eyes hated garlic. Trisha sings some of her favorite Sinatra tunes while sipping Frank's favorite whiskey and water and making Prosciutto and Cantaloupe Bites with Balsamic and Black Pepper, an Arugula, Mozzarella, Roasted Red Pepper and Mint Salad, Spicy Clams Linguine with Sunday Gravy and, for dessert, Orange Chocolate Cannoli Dip.
Bobby and Sophie Flay start the day with a joy ride on bikes as they head to the Lower East Side for Sophie's favorite fried chicken at Sweet Chick. After the meal, they check out a gourmet ice cream parlor that Bobby has been dying to try, Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream. From there, they head to Bobby's pick for fried chicken, a nostalgic place where he spent a lot of time early in his career, Blue Ribbon.
Eight of the worst celebrity cooks in America arrive at culinary boot camp, and chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence ask them each to cook their favorite restaurant dish to see how they measure up to the original. Then, the chefs teach the celebrities how to make a classic steakhouse meal, and it's clear that some of these celebs just don't have the chops. Finally, Anne and Tyler pick their teams in an award show-inspired ceremony.
In the penultimate week of boot camp, the remaining recruits battle it out for their spot in the finale. First, they're each given $15 and 20 minutes to scour Aldi supermarket for the ingredients to make a meal of their choice. For the main dish challenge, the recruits attempt to replicate dishes created by chefs Anne Burrell and Bobby Flay that utilize high-end ingredients. After the tasting, the chefs decide which recruits are going to the finale!
The final two recruits face off in the ultimate challenge -- cooking a 3-course, restaurant quality meal for a panel of culinary experts. Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence coach their recruits from the sidelines, but it all comes down to the skills that the recruits have learned over the past 10 weeks. Judges Paulette Goto, Jordan Andino and Michael Chernow taste the recruits' dishes in a blind taste test and determine the winner of the $25,000 prize.
With Chef Tyler Florence now beside her in the kitchen, Chef Anne Burrell is out to claim her turf and take the win. After an open call brings some truly horrible cooks right to Anne and Tyler, the pair chooses 14 Recruits to bring back to Boot Camp. These "home cooks" make the chefs their signature dishes, and upon tasting, Anne and Tyler choose their Recruits and give them a lesson in creating the ultimate romantic meal.
