I have had a long, wonderful relationship with Jones Soda.
When I was growing up, I would greatly look forward to family outings to the nearby Row-Manse Emporium, an enormous specialty department store just blocks from my home. We'd primarily go to see newly released Beanie Babies and then trek downstairs to look at all of the specialty candies, chocolates and novelties — and this is where I first encountered Jones Soda.
I was enamored: the bright colors, the unique flavors, the collectability of the bottles, the entire aesthetic. I was obsessed. In my teen years, I rediscovered the soda again, when it was sold through trendy, hip retailers — and, yet again, I began collecting bottles, which soon accumulated all throughout my house.
Now, all these years later, Jones is yet another food company tapping into the vast power of nostalgia as it releases a new collaboration with Crayola. This is ideal for anyone who wonders about what a color might taste like — whether that be a primary color or even a specialty Crayola color.
What is the Jones Soda x Crayola collab?
The limited-edition sodas — packaged to resemble an enormous crayon box — is a part of Jones' 30th anniversary celebration. The flavors include Fruit Punch, Pineapple Cream, Orange and Cream, Green Apple, Berry Lemonade and Fufu Berry. The flavors are inspired by particular Crayola colors: Razzmatazz, Sunset Orange, Dandelion, Granny Smith Apple, Robin's Egg Blue and Razzle Dazzle Rose, respectively.
This launch is perfectly celebratory for Crayola fans, Jones fans looking to celebrate the brand's 30th anniversary, the nostalgic (a.k.a. me) and back-to-school preparers. Jones collaborated with Crayola last year as well, releasing a similar six-pack in different colors.
In a press, Anna Roca, Head of Global Partnership at Crayola, calls the collaboration "a vibrant, multi-sensory experience that encourages fans of all ages to explore, create, and rediscover the joy of color in a fresh, unexpected way."
Where can you buy the Jones x Crayola sodas?
The limited-edition soda collection will be sold both in retail and online, priced at $29.99 per pack. And, when ordering from the Jones website, the order also comes complete with a coloring book and a pack of crayons. How fun is that?
