Let’s hear it for the aunties! Mothers and fathers get their big days every year, when we celebrate them with cards, gifts, breakfast in bed, and family gatherings and traditions of all sorts. But what about those aunts who are there for us when we feel like confiding in, getting advice from or just spending time with someone from the previous generation who is not our parent?

It just so happens that they have their own day on the calendar, too, albeit one less heralded. National Aunt and Uncle Day is celebrated on July 26 each year. And this year, the soft-baked pretzel chain Auntie Anne’s has something special planned for the aunties and “aunt-like figures” in our lives.

What is Auntie Anne’s doing for National Auntie Day (as it calls it) this year?

For starters, the chain is offering a buy-one-get-one deal on pretzels at participating locations so you can “share a warm, golden Auntie Anne’s pretzel with a loved one who makes life’s twists a little easier,” the brand says. Sweet.

Even sweeter? Auntie Anne’s has partnered with Little Words Project, which makes beaded jewelry featuring inspiring and uplifting words, to offer a limited-edition "Auntie" bracelet.

The Auntie Anne’s x Little Words Project charm bracelet’s custom-designed pattern evokes Auntie Anne's trademark colors and features a mix of crystal glass and acrylic beads as well as a cute “gold-plated enamel cast” bead that’s shaped like a pretzel. The letter beads on the bracelet spell out the word “Auntie.”

"Aunties play such an important role in bringing people together and making life a little brighter, just like our pretzels,” Nathan Baldwin, Auntie Anne’s chief brand officer, says in a news release. The National Auntie Day celebration, he adds, “is about recognizing those relationships and giving people a reason to connect, celebrate and share something they love.”

How can you get an Auntie Anne’s x Little Words Project charm bracelet?

You can get a bracelet for free with the purchase of any item at select locations on July 26, while supplies last. (The offer is limited to one per person — so choose your aunt carefully!) Participating locations are listed here.

If you’re not near one of the select locations offering the freebie, you can purchase a bracelet online, where a limited quantity is now available. The bracelets are priced at $12, but Auntie Anne’s loyalty members can get them for $10 using the code “AUNTIEDAY.”

What are the details of the buy-one-get-one free pretzel offer?

On July 26, Auntie Anne's Rewards members can get a free Original or Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel with any pretzel purchase. To become a loyalty member, download the Auntie Anne's app and sign up for the free rewards program.
