Nothing like a summer beach day. The sun, the surf, the sand. You’ll want to pack sunscreen, of course, something cold to drink and a sandwich for when hunger hits. No want wants to get hangry on a day that’s supposed to be blissful — but no one wants a sandwich full of sand either.
Lands’ End and Wawa have teamed up to introduce a bag designed to tote your hoagie (a.k.a. sub, a.k.a. grinder, a.k.a. hero, a.k.a. whatever it’s called where you’re from) stylishly to the beach while keeping it sand-free.
The limited edition Wawa Shorti Tote will be offered at select stores and online starting July 22 as part of a three-piece Lands' End x Wawa collection.
What is the Wawa Shorti Tote?
Described as this summer’s “ultimate beach accessory,” Lands’ End and Wawa’s limited-edition Wawa Shorti beach tote is designed to transport your Wawa Shorti hoagie “safely to the sand.” (A Wawa Shorti is a customizable 6-inch “built-to-order” sub.) The tote is being released alongside two other items — a co-branded graphic T-shirt and a hoagie-themed bag charm. The trio of items in the Lands’ End x Wawa collection are a “nod” Wawa’s “ingredient customization capabilities” when it comes to ordering hoagies.
Inspired by Lands’ End’s beach-ready vibe and Wawa’s hoagie-loving fan base, the collab celebrates “an ‘Analog Summer,’ spent trading screen time for beach time” and embracing the simple outdoor pleasures of the season, the companies say.
“The Shorti Tote is our love letter to beach days, delicious food and the simple joy of just being present — and finally, a solution for getting your hoagie to the beach exactly the way it was meant to be eaten,” Kym Maas, the president of consumer and chief creative officer at Lands’ End, says in a press release.
Is Wawa doing anything else to celebrate to this collab?
Yes. Wawa is offering customers the opportunity to build their own "Analog Summer Shorti” at their local Wawa — which includes oven-roasted turkey, provolone, spicy mustard, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, crispy onions and Old Bay seasoning — when they place their orders at an in-store kiosk.
"We are grateful to our customers for making Wawa a part of their summer days," Dave Simonetti, Wawa’s director of store operations. Simonetti says the company is thrilled to have worked with Lands’ End to release a “one-of-a-kind accessory that's sure to bring joy to our customers this summer.”
How can you get the items in the Lands' End x Wawa collection?

Limited quantities of the Shorti Tote will also be available, while supplies last, at select Wawa stores in New Jersey and on wawa.com, also starting July 22.
